“If exercise was a pill, it would be called a miracle cure”

In 2025 try to think about exercise differently.

Instead of anything to do with aesthetics, think about how small amounts can help you enjoy life! This is how I think about it:

Running/Walking – 20 minutes will make me feel more alive, more focussed, ultimately happier.

Strength – lower body (e.g. squats, split squats, glute bridges etc), will stop a decline in power which will allow me to carry on doing the stuff I love, from dancing to shopping, and even help me to get up off the floor and out of bed!

Strength – total body including upper (push ups, presses, chest presses) will help protect my back, support my pelvic floor, breathe, which all affect how I feel day to day.

Mobility – will help support my connective tissue, protect me from problems such as frozen shoulder, help me not hold my stress in my neck which has been linked to headaches.

It will of course also help your heart, your bones, your muscles, your immune system, your blood sugar balance, but thinking, “if I move I will be happier”, is a powerful statement. And is keeping it simple!

Obviously you need to start where you are – don’t throw yourself into a lifestyle overhaul as you’ll never keep it going. But, if you want to start thinking about good habits to get into a good start is the 7 day Kickstarter Thrive in ‘25 or my Thrive in 3. All info available here.
